We offer a thorough appraisal service for any make and year of Lionel, American Flyer, Marx, MTH, or other brand of toy train equipment. This service is provided by TCA member and long time toy train collector Bob Nielson, or our in house service technician Todd Sisneros. Keep in mind that both of these guys take their appraisals very seriously, and they go far beyond the traditional "look up numbers in the Greenburg guide" method. If you have some older items and are curious about the true value in today's market, call us to setup an appointment to bring them in and have them looked at.

As a note, we do charge a reasonable hourly rate for our appraisals. If you are looking to sell your items and we arrive at a fair purchase price, we will waive the appraisal fee. If you have any questions about this service please give us a call, but remember we usually cannot give you a valuation over the phone.

Appraising non-toy trains can be difficult and sometimes impossible. There has been limited published information to use as a reference, and many times the only way to establish a value is by checking both online and local auctions. Also because much of this equipment depreciates over time, it may not be worth the expense of having a professional valuation done.
