Golden Spike Train Club of Utah

The Golden Spike Train Club is one of Utah’s oldest model railroad clubs. The club maintains a permanent layout in the basement of the old Wasatch Hot Springs building and moved there from the Utah State Fairpark when the Children’s Museum occupied this historic building. HO and HOn3 are operated on this large layout. The club is open on Saturday nights from 6pm to 9pm, and holds monthly open houses for the public.

While all scales are represented, HO is the primary scale of most members. The club has grown to nearly 180 members in 2004, mostly from the Wasatch Front area of Utah. They generally meet once a month at the Ogden Union Station every third Wednesday. New members are welcome anytime.Under the long term leadership of president Mike Murphy, the club has gained in reputation and leadership among model railroad clubs in the west.

The Ophir, Tintic, & Western Model Railroad Club was organized by a small group interested in HO scale model railroading on March 22, 1990. The club was organized it the Caboose Lounge at the Well Trained Model Railroad store in Provo, Utah. Those present at the first meeting were a group of modelers primarily from Utah County. They shared a common interest in mining railroads.

The South Weber Model Railroad Club is a large scale train club. Our trains our approximately 1/8th scale. We run on 7 1/2" gauge track. Each car will hold about 1000 pounds each. So come ride the train. The club track is located in Canyon Meadows Park at 475 East Petersen Parkway, South Weber, Utah.

The Trackers are Utah's unique model railroad club. Nestled in the Tooele Vallley Railroad Museum, the Trackers occupy a World War II era troop car. The layout has both HO and HOn3 running on DCC. Our mission is to promote model railroading to everyone and support the museum in its role of preserving the history of railroads and mining in the Tooele Valley.
